A Saint and fifty-first patriarch of the See of Saint Mark (830). was a deacon and monk from Alexandria. His life is briefly recorded in the HISTORY OF THE PATRIARCHS. He was a close disciple of JACOB, his predecessor, and his sanctity was known to the clergy and archons of the city. He also was a of MARK II, a fact that indicates that he must have been an elderly person at the time of his consecration, although his date of birth is unknown and there is no significant record of his very short reign. His patriarchate lasted only five months and sixteen days.
