SALIM IBN YUSUF AL-SIBA‘I AL-ITFAWI
Known only as the person donating fol. 286a of a manuscript (Sinai Arabic 136) containing the Gospels for the feasts of the year, copied by the hieromonk Elias and completed on 22 May 1685, to the Monastery of Sinai.
The title Ra’is in a note in the manuscript indicates a prominent citizen; his surname shows that the family was from Idfu in Upper Egypt, the Apollonopolis of ancient times. He must have lived at the end of the seventeenth century.
