This rite is performed by a priest in the case of one who committed grave sins and seeks and reconciliation. After relevant readings and special prayers, the pours some oil in a jar full of water, saying “In the name of the Father and the Son and the , blessed is the Almighty Father, blessed is Jesus our Lord, blessed is the Comforter,” after which he sprinkles the water over the penitent.

This rite is a sort of “second” baptism; it is not published in the actual printed liturgical books but it is mentioned only in few manuscripts. However, it is no longer in use.
