GRAPOW, HERMANN (1885-1967)

A German Egyptologist. He was a pupil of Erman and Georg Steindorff, a collaborator with Erman in the Ägyptisches Wörterbuch, and successor of K. Sethe at University. He worked also on ancient Egyptian medicine and medical texts. His interest in Coptic led to Vom Hieroglyphisch-Demotischen zum Koptischen (Berlin, 1938) and “ über Stil und Sprache des Kambysesromans” ( und Altertumskunde 74, 1938, pp. 55-68).
