Dahlak

DAHLAK

A town in Egypt, the location of which is unknown. The patriarch II (1078-1092) fled to Dahlak when conflicts within the church and threats of encroachment forced him to seek refuge. However, the Muslim authority in Dahlak captured him, took his money, and returned him to the al-Guyus in Cairo.
